Advisory Board Information
The Center for Wireless and Microwave Information Systems (the WAMI Center, Department of Electrical Engineering) hosted the 6th Annual Wireless and Microwave Technology Conference on Sand Key, April 15-16. Over 125 attendees represented 40+ companies spread throughout the United States and Europe, along with several U.S. government agencies. The conference was preceded by the 7th annual meeting of the WAMI Center Advisory Board (see photo) with members from 14 companies and U.S. universities. The annual events have provided a very successful forum for interactive discussion on curriculum enhancements and the current state of practice in the microwave industry. Ray Pengelly, Chief Technology Officer for Cree Microwave (Raleigh, North Carolina), summed it up this way, "The WAMI Conference is unique in providing a forum where engineers of all experiences and races can get together and exchange/mutually educate/inform each other. A great job and I look forward to the follow-on in 2005!"
