    You are allowed a total of EIGHT (8) pages for your paper. This includes all figures, tables, and references.

    PLEASE NOTE: Your paper is due by 28 February 2001. (This is the correct date. Please ignore any other dates.)

    PLEASE NOTE: A signed copyright release form is due by 28 February 2001.

    PLEASE NOTE: An electronic abstract of your paper is due by 28 February 2001.

    Please put the conference name - DCV'01 - on all correspondence. This will assure that your correspondence is directed immediately to my desk.

    ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION:

    Please submit your paper electronically to our FTP site.

    • The paper should be uploaded at: ftp://pubftp.computer.org/Press/Incoming/Proceedings/dcv01/
    • Please prepare your U.S. Letter-size (8.5" x 11") paper as plain ASCII PostScript only, with NO encoding, condensing, or encapsulation.
    • Please use TrueType 1 fonts wherever possible.
    • Fonts MUST be from Latin 1 Fontset. Our PostScript printers will not recognize any other fonts.
    • Do not use bitmapped versions of fonts such as Computer Modern if you can avoid it.
    • Do not use Ryumin fonts; we do not have this font, and errors will occur when we try to print the file. Please use Times-Roman, or Helvetica, only.
    • Guidelines for generating and submitting PostScript files are available on our Internet site at: http://computer.org/author/psguide.htm
    • Some older FTP applications (RapidFTP included) may require the user to choose a remote operating system type. In these instances choose: "MS Windows NT - Unix".
    FILE NAME:
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: Please use the following naming convention when naming and sending your file(s):
    Papers are arranged into numbered sessions, and by the order within each session. For example, the second paper in Session 3 would be named <3.2_smith_j.ps>

    If you are unsure of your paper order, please contact us.

  • Files are automatically moved off the FTP site. Please do not re-post your paper if you do not see it on the site.

    TRANSFERRING TO FTP SITE:

    When transferring files to the FTP site, if you have a choice between ASCIIand binary modes, use binary. Although ASCII mode works well most of the time, binary mode incurs fewer problems.

    To upload files on the FTP site:

    • - FTP to "pubftp.computer.org"
    • - User: "anonymous"
    • - Password: Use email identity (email name) as password.
    • - Change directories to Press/Incoming/Proceedings/dcv01

    ABSTRACT:

    All proceedings published by the IEEE Computer Society Press are now being included in the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library, and are available on-line through our Web site http://www.computer.org

    An emailed abstract of your paper is necessary to include your paper in the on-line version of the DCV 2001 proceedings.
